Get in the best shape of your life now at City leegar with Muay Thai Training.

Muay Thai Kickboxing is well known to be one of the most effective forms of Martial Arts in existence. Punches, kicks, elbows and knees are used to cause maximum damage to opponents in the competitive arena or in self defense situations if needed. It is the main striking discipline used by fighters in the hugely popular 'UFC' mixed martial arts competition. City Lee Gar has a long history of producing champion fighters, with founder Sifu Phillip Lam considered the Godfather of the sport in New Zealand. Anyone wishing to compete in the sport of Muay Thai/Kickboxing will be in good hands at City Lee Gar and can be trained to fight at the highest levels, with frequent opportunities to compete both in NZ and internationally.

Tony Angelov

Tony started training as a teenager at City Lee Gar at the beginning of the year 2000 and has since had involvement with almost every aspect of Muay Thai. A 2x New Zealand Champion at both Super-Cruiserweight and Heavyweight, Tony has fought at the highest level internationally while also judging and refereeing at local fight events on a regular basis. In 2014 he was given the honour of running the gym by Sifu Phillip Lam. It is a responsibility not taken lightly and he continues to ensure the Lee Gar Legacy lives on strong.

Jarrod Thompson

Jarrod 'the Saint' Thompson is making a name for himself on the NZ super heavyweight kickboxing scene and also one of our most dedicated fighters. His determination and dedication to the sport make him a great role model for our younger members who regularly attend his kids classes. Jarrod's degrees in sports psychology and management have given him valuable tools to use in the mental preparation for both himself and fellow fighters.
